ARTECHOUSE Presents: ASE : AFRO FREQUENCIES

  • Artechouse 439 West 15th Street New York, NY, 10011 United States (map)

ARTECHOUSE NYC is thrilled to present "Aṣẹ: Afro Frequencies,” an immersive and experiential African art-inspired exhibition that will open on March 22 and run throughout the summer. Created by the ARTECHOUSE Studio in collaboration with London-based Afro-surrealist digital artist Vince Fraser and poet Ursula Rucker, this exhibition pays tribute to the Black experience, encompassing its history, struggles, and complexities.

"Aṣẹ", a Yoruba mantra signifying positive change, is the theme of this exhibition and permeates the entire display. This interactive art event provides a blend of digital art, vibrant imagery, pulsating rhythm of drums, and evocative poetry narration.

The exhibition unfolds in four parts, culminating in "Vision of the Black Experience", an impressive digital installment combining the industry's largest seamless megapixel count projections with Hyperreal Sound technology.

Also included are interactive auxiliary galleries such as "Thousand Masks", celebrating African cultural diversity, and "Afrikanism", an interactive reimagining of the African continent.

Adding to the experience is the ARTECHOUSE XR Bar, serving specialty drinks inspired by traditional African ingredients and themes from the exhibition, with extended reality (XR) activations.

Join us at ARTECHOUSE NYC for this transformative journey through audiovisual narratives that connect the past, present, and future of the Black experience.
